Course Description |
Course Objective
This course is intended for Network Programmers and Network Administrators who intend to familiarize them and become adept in Centralized Computing Environments.
This intensive hands-on course will help participants to gain the skills required to install UNIX , use it, do trouble-shooting and create fast and powerful routines using shell programming. They will be able to manage UNIX as administrators.
Pre-Requisite
Participant must be familiar with basic computer operations. Little programming experience will be an added benefit in the later part of the course.

- Network Planning and Security issues for the UNIX
- Identifying Hardware for UNIX in Small/ Medium/ Large corporate
- Learning Tools to perform tasks such as:
- Connecting to UNIX and password handling, File and Directory Management
- Understanding and Managing Security Levels of UNIX
- PIPES and SOCKETS handling in UNIX, Formatting devices in UNIX
- Searching files and texts in files, Sorting Text and data files
- Learning editors of UNIX, Using news reader of UNIX
- Sending Online and Offline messages,
- File compression and decompression activities
- Creating and Restoring Backups
- Process Handling includes reporting and killing
- Transferring files to different environment
- Activities to Administrate UNIX environment includes:
- Learning X-Client and SCOADMIN
- Building UNIX environment from scratch
- Automatic and Customize installation

- Installing and Configuring Software
